This tutorial will show you how to access and search the Business Source Complete database to find journal articles.
You can use the skills you learn here, to find journal articles on any topic in most Library databases.

How to use this tutorial
We are starting at the A-Z Database list.
• Click B • Click Business Source Complete • Login when prompted • You are now in Business Source Complete
Note: A-Z Database list is found on the UOW Library homepage.
We are using the following example topic:
Example topic:
"Explore customer satisfaction and demonstrate the advantages and limitations of three different research methods to investigate customer satisfaction"
Major keywords for searching would be customer satisfaction and research methods.
Alternative search words may include:
customer experience market research survey questionnaire focus groups
Different authors use different words to describe the same thing. To get a better search, you can include alternative keywords. Rather than searching only for:
"customer satisfaction" AND "research methods"
We can combine our alternative search words with OR as follows:
“customer satisfaction” OR “customer experience” AND “market research” OR “market analysis” AND “focus group*” OR survey OR questionnaire

Search tips explained
How many results did you get?
On the left hand side of your results you can use Refine Results to add some limits to your search, e.g. we may want to only look at Scholarly/Academic Articles. In Business Source Complete, these articles are called Peer Reviewed.
Tick the Peer Reviewed box.
From the results page, click on the title of an article to see the details of a full record.
Read through the Abstract to determine if the article is relevant to your research. Look at the Subject Terms / Author Supplied Keywords, this will give you more suggested search words that you can use for further searching.
Try and find some additional search words
You may want to edit your original search with these additional search words to help find more relevant results.
Click the back button in your browser to go back to your results page
There are two main options to read the full text of an article: PDF Full Text or Find Full Text.
The PDF Full Text link will go directly to a PDF of the article.
The Find Full Text link will search our resources for the Full Text.
Click on New Search at the top left of the screen to go back to the Advanced Search Page.
Change Select a Field from the drop down menu to Company Entity.
Enter the Company Name into the search box and click search. In this example we will use the Company Giordano.
Use the Refine Results limits on the left side of the screen.
